Dell has announced the launch of PowerEdge VRTX, a private cloud in a box and the first converged IT solution designed specifically for remote and small office environments, with enterprise-class capabilities in a desk-side, space-saving design. Customer feedback shaped the innovation in the new PowerEdge VRTX, which brings servers, storage, networking and management into a single chassis optimized for offices.
Despite anticipated growth in the small and medium business segment in India, to date, workload and application-centric IT infrastructure has been engineered for large enterprises, and do not address the needs of quickly growing remote/branch office (ROBO) of large enterprises or small-to-medium business (SMB) customers. According to a study performed by Dell on global Mid-Market IT preferences it was found that most small and medium scale business in India value simplicity of their IT infrastructure more than other countries and consider IT as important for their growth. However, the technology solutions often used by these customers – particularly within healthcare, retail and banking industries – and channel partners lack the flexibility, scalability, and ease of management necessary to grow efficiently and compete with larger organizations. Dell PowerEdge VRTX has been designed to address these issues.
VRTX enables large enterprises and organizations to put data center horsepower out into their remote/branch offices where performance and capacity are needed. With a special emphasis on small and medium businesses the new product enables them to redefine office IT, gaining greater simplicity, efficiency and versatility.
