eGovWatch: Maharashtra to launch digital policy by March

Taking cues from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India programme, Maharashtra government will launch a new digital policy for the state by March.

“We will bring in a new digital policy in the state by March,” chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said. He was speaking at a function to mark announcement of the country’s first ‘digital village’, developed by financial services giant ICICI group, which was dedicated to the nation by Modi on Saturday.

Earlier, Fadnavis had said that the state government is working out ways to provide online all facilities it offers to people.

“Taking cues from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India programme, we will start a Digital Maharashtra programme where all services of the state government will be provided online. We will very soon announce the date of commencement of this programme,” he had said last month.
