eGovWatch: Rajasthan Budget proposes IT and eGovernance policy

Rajasthan government will issue a new IT and eGovernance policy for citizens, industries and government offices, said Rajasthan Chief minister Vasunddhara Raje in her budget speech.

The government will also extend its support to expand 4G mobile network in the state while Wi-Fi facility at earmarked places in Jaipur will be provided.

Raje said that her government will provide necessary assistance to expand 4G services to improve mobile connectively in the state.

Making announcements under ‘Digital Rajasthan and Good Governance’ segment, Raje said that Primary Agriculture Credit
Society (PACS), Large Agriculture Multipurpose Society (LAMS) and E-Mitra centres will be made business correspondents.

She said that a new IT and e-governance policy, 15000 new e-mitra centres, video conferencing at all ATAL Sewa kendras, establishment of District Level Officer of IT, Wi-Fi facility will be provided at the main railway station, Sindhi camp bus
stand, Jantar-Mantar, Amber fort, Central Park, Jawahar Circle, SMS hospital, selected stations of Metro rail in Jaipur.

Creation of Rajasthan State Tourism portal, Rajasthan Higher Education portal, computer labs in 2000 schools, digital literacy scheme, end-to-end computerisation of PDS system, e-Tuition in social justice and empowerment department’s residential schools and hostels, implementation of E-dharti programme were among other announcements for the sector.

The IT-enabled centre will also provide information about job openings at various places within and outside the
country and will also tie up with manpower agencies to provide jobs to skilled and trained youths of the state, she said.

The Chief Minister also announced to provide coaching facilities for NDA, CDS exams and other central and banking services, driving training centres in collaboration with automobile companies, training of 500 artisans by RIICO, formation of 15,000 Self Help Groups, extension of livelihood mission to 60 more blocks, commercial training in 200 schools and strengthening of ITIs
