eGovWatch: ‘Save-Us’ SMS service launched to help accident trauma victims

Now, saving accident victims will become simpler with the launch of a mobile-based service by the Kanpur district authorities, helping the police and paramedics to locate the place of the mishap and send immediate medical aid to the people in trauma.

‘Save-Us: Saving Accident Victim Effectively Using SMS service’ has been initiated to keep the authorities in loop about any accidents happening in the district through a message on 9648645555.

According to a statement issued by District Magistrate Roshan Jacob, it is often seen that people who pass by an accident spot do not inform the police, considering that they can be interrogated regarding the mishap.

Using the current service, the passer-bys can simply send message about the location of the accident and the identification of the vehicle, with no aspect of interrogation in the matter, he said.

With the authorities receiving the information, an ambulance along with police personnel will immediately leave for the spot, informing the victim’s relatives.

Jacob has asked all the officials and workers of district administration and Kanpur residents to register their vehicle numbers to avail the service.

Any vehicle may be registered through an SMS on 9648645555. After this, the applicant will get one-time password, the statement said.

The applicant has to register the vehicle number and other details, including personal information and mobile numbers of the people who can be contacted at the time of emergency, on ‘www.missionsaveus.in’
