Airtel showcases AI-led digital infrastructure at the India AI Impact Summit 2026

Bharti Airtel hosted Prime Minister Narendra Modi at its “Airtel Arena” during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where the telecom operator outlined its strategy to strengthen India’s AI-driven digital infrastructure through network intelligence, cloud platforms and cybersecurity capabilities.

The visit highlighted Airtel’s ongoing investments in embedding artificial intelligence across its telecom networks, enterprise platforms and digital services to improve operational efficiency, resilience and user safety. The company said AI is being integrated into its infrastructure stack to support large-scale connectivity, automation and secure digital services for businesses, government agencies and consumers.

AI-powered network security and fraud prevention

Among the key demonstrations was Airtel’s AI-based fraud detection framework, which analyses traffic patterns and behavioural signals at the network level to identify spam and potential scams in real time. According to the company, billions of spam calls and messages have been flagged since the rollout of AI filtering tools in 2024, alongside the blocking of malicious links and attempted fraud activity.

The operator also highlighted enterprise-focused anti-spam capabilities, including verified business name display features and network APIs aimed at enabling secure innovation on telecom infrastructure.

Expanding AI access and consumer services

Airtel outlined initiatives focused on broader AI adoption, including AI-enabled entertainment experiences and a partnership with Adobe Express to provide AI-assisted design tools to its customer base. These offerings are positioned as part of a wider effort to make AI tools more accessible to students, professionals and small businesses.

Building AI-ready cloud and data centre infrastructure

The company also detailed investments in sovereign cloud services and data centre expansion through its Nxtra business. Airtel said its cloud platform is designed to support AI workloads and real-time analytics while maintaining data residency within India. Its distributed data centre network, spanning metro and edge locations, is being enhanced with AI-driven operational management to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Strengthening cybersecurity capabilities

Airtel’s security portfolio includes AI-driven threat detection, zero-trust architecture and managed security services aimed at protecting enterprise networks and critical infrastructure. The company said its multi-layered cybersecurity framework provides continuous monitoring and automated response to emerging threats.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 brought together government leaders, industry stakeholders and technology providers to discuss AI adoption, digital infrastructure and innovation strategies as India accelerates its AI-led transformation.
