AMD and the University of Delhi have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide students and faculty with access to AI development tools and training resources, with the programme targeting up to 10,000 students over the next year.
Under the collaboration, AMD will bring its AI Engage Developer Program to Delhi University. Students and faculty will receive access to AMD’s open-source ROCm AI software platform, AI learning curriculum, technical workshops and developer GPU cloud credits for hands-on experimentation.
The programme is intended to enable students to build, test and deploy AI applications using AMD’s software and computing resources, while supporting research and developer training.
“India has the talent and the ambition to lead the next wave of AI innovation. The opportunity now is to give students early access to the platforms and tools that power real-world AI development,” said Jaya Jagadish, Country Head & SVP Engineering, AMD India.
“Through our collaboration with the University of Delhi, we are helping students move from learning AI concepts to building AI solutions. It reflects AMD’s long-term commitment to strengthening India’s AI ecosystem and developing future-ready talent,” she added.
The university will integrate the resources into student learning opportunities, giving aspiring developers practical exposure to AI technologies and computing platforms.
Prof Yogesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Delhi University, said the collaboration would combine academic learning with access to AI computing platforms.
“This collaboration reflects a growing industry focus on preparing graduates with practical AI skills that extend beyond classroom learning. By combining academic learning with access to modern AI computing platforms, AMD and Delhi University will help create a stronger pipeline of AI developers and researchers to support India’s expanding digital economy,” Singh said.
The collaboration is part of AMD’s broader engagement with India’s technology ecosystem through academic programmes, developer initiatives and open AI software.
