Avaya launches new cloud networking platform for businesses

IT professionals with centralised management, visibility, can control over their network without the complexity of controlling appliances or overlay management software with this platform, says Avaya.

The American business communications software company, Avaya has launched its complete network lifecycle management solution for enterprise and mid-size businesses.

Avaya in a statement said that this “Cloud Networking Platform” will deliver a unified, powerful solution for deploying and managing wired and wireless networks with complete control and visibility anywhere, anytime. Now, IT professionals with centralised management, visibility, can control over their network without the complexity of controlling appliances or overlay management software.

This platform will be available globally with support for wireless in November 2016 and support for wired networks will come later. The service would be available in a subscription mode for the cloud networking management service, while the hardware would be priced separately, stated Avaya.

Basically, hardware such as switches and access points installed on a customer premises are configured and managed in the cloud. With this platform, IT managers can easily add, change, or modify network services from an easy to use dashboard to meet rapidly evolving business needs, company said.

“As the demand for unified access solutions continues to grow, the burden of managing and securing networks has become nearly untenable – especially at a time when there’s pressure to reduce IT budgets and resources,” Maan Al Shakarchi, head of networking in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific, Avaya, said, adding that this platform will provide the much needed relief with a highly-secure, cost-effective solution that fits any size business.
