Career247, the skilling and higher education division of Adda Education, has announced that it is adopting the IBM Career Education programme to broaden access to training in emerging technologies for learners across Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions in India.
Under this collaboration, Career247 will offer certification programmes covering generative AI, cybersecurity, full-stack development, and data analytics. The programmes integrate IBM’s guided labs, industry-linked challenges and masterclasses, with learners receiving a joint IBM–Career247 certification on completion.
According to the organisations, the initiative aims to bring structured, hands-on training to a wider base of learners, with an emphasis on employability and practical skills aligned to industry needs.
Focus on expanding access to emerging technology skills.
Bimaljeet Singh Bhasin, CEO – Skilling & Higher Education at Adda Education, said the initiative is aimed at increasing access to technology training for learners outside major metropolitan areas. The programme intends to support first-generation professionals seeking opportunities in digital roles across private-sector industries.
Viswanath Ramaswamy, VP – Technology, IBM India & South Asia, said the IBM Career Education programme is designed to expose students to real-world use cases and best practices in emerging technologies through hands-on labs and industry-informed content.
Industry context: Demand for job-ready digital skills
The programme aligns with the growing demand for digitally trained professionals and the broader national focus on AI and advanced technology adoption. By offering structured, job-orientated training modules, the partnership seeks to address gaps in workforce preparedness, particularly in areas such as AI, data analytics and cybersecurity.
Career247 expects the initiative to train several thousand learners in the coming year, contributing to a broader skilling ecosystem aimed at supporting India’s expanding digital economy.
