Coforge Unveils AI-Powered Nexa Platform to Transform Insurance Operations

Coforge has introduced the Nexa Agentic AI Platform, a new AI-led business platform aimed at helping insurers modernize operations, improve efficiency, and accelerate business outcomes without overhauling existing technology systems.

Designed for the global insurance market, the platform seeks to help insurance carriers maximize the value of their current systems by embedding AI capabilities into core workflows rather than replacing legacy infrastructure. The company said the solution overlays AI orchestration on top of incumbent platforms, enabling insurers to modernize processes while minimizing disruption.

Built on Coforge’s proprietary AI foundation, the Nexa platform combines domain-specific insurance intelligence with modular AI agents that can either be deployed independently for targeted functions or adopted as part of a broader “Insurance-in-a-Box” approach.

According to Coforge, the platform has been developed with a strong emphasis on transparency, governance, and human oversight, ensuring auditability and measurable business outcomes while keeping human decision-making central to operations.

Rajeev Batra, EVP & Global Practice Head of Insurance, Coforge, said the platform combines the company’s insurance expertise and AI engineering capabilities to help insurers scale AI adoption with confidence. He noted that Nexa has been purpose-built for segments including Property & Casualty, Life & Annuities, Specialty insurance, Managing General Agents (MGAs), and intermediaries, addressing operational bottlenecks through production-ready AI capabilities.

Six AI-Led Insurance Orchestrators

At the core of the Nexa Agentic AI Platform is a marketplace featuring more than 30 AI-driven insurance assets across underwriting, claims, customer service, product development, and platform modernization.

The offering is anchored by six flagship AI orchestrators spanning the insurance value chain:

  • AI-Powered Submission Center: Designed to streamline underwriting by automating broker submission intake, data extraction, validation, and prioritization, helping insurers reduce manual intervention and improve underwriting capacity.
  • Agentic State Rollout Factory: Helps insurers automate rates, forms, and regulatory filings across jurisdictions, aimed at accelerating state launches and improving compliance efficiency.
  • AI-Driven Product Rollout Factory: Enables faster product development cycles through automation, allowing insurers to respond more quickly to regulatory and market shifts.
  • Global Expansion Capability: Offers insurers a repeatable framework for entering new geographies without rebuilding configurations and compliance structures from scratch.
  • Core Platform Modernization: Uses AI agents to simplify legacy modernization, automate regression testing, and stabilize integrations to reduce operational complexity and lower modernization costs.
  • Claims Triaging Centre: Automates claims intake, triage, and routing while identifying fraud indicators early in the process to improve decision-making and claims efficiency.

The platform has been designed around insurance-specific user personas such as brokers, underwriters, claims adjudicators, and customer service teams, to embed AI directly into day-to-day operational workflows.

Looking ahead, Coforge plans to deepen Nexa’s intelligence through insurance knowledge graphs, enabling more context-aware reasoning across submissions, policies, claims, and customer interactions.

The launch also forms a key part of Coforge’s broader insurance growth strategy, as the company looks to help insurers scale AI adoption while protecting existing technology investments, accelerating operational outcomes, and strengthening competitiveness in a rapidly evolving insurance landscape.
