Cohesity expands data security portfolio with DSPM solution powered by Cyera

Cohesity has announced the launch of Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), powered by Cyera, as part of its effort to strengthen cyber resilience for enterprises dealing with rapidly growing data volumes and increasing AI adoption. The new solution is designed to provide deeper visibility into sensitive data across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises environments while helping organizations reduce risk and improve recovery readiness.

According to the company, the rise of AI-driven workflows and distributed data environments has made it difficult for organizations to track where sensitive information resides and how it is being used. Traditional security tools often struggle to keep pace with the scale and complexity of modern enterprise data, especially as AI agents and automation introduce new exposure points. The DSPM solution aims to address this gap by continuously discovering, classifying, and monitoring data across structured and unstructured sources.

Cohesity DSPM, powered by Cyera, uses agentless scanning and AI-based classification to provide high-precision visibility across large data environments, allowing security teams to identify risks, prioritize remediation, and strengthen governance before incidents occur. The platform also integrates with Cohesity’s cyber resilience offerings, enabling organizations to link data discovery with protection, backup, and recovery processes within a single framework.

The companies said the unified approach helps enterprises close the loop between visibility and action, ensuring that sensitive data is not only identified but also secured and recoverable in the event of a cyberattack. The solution also supports compliance requirements, reduces redundant or obsolete data, and helps organizations manage risk as they expand use of cloud, SaaS, and AI technologies.

Cohesity noted that the offering is particularly relevant for enterprises adopting AI at scale, where uncontrolled data growth and limited visibility can increase the likelihood of breaches or operational disruption. By combining Cyera’s data intelligence capabilities with Cohesity’s data protection platform, the companies aim to help customers strengthen security posture while enabling faster and more confident AI innovation.
