Deloitte has launched an Open Model Engineering practice in India and other key global markets to help enterprises build, deploy and scale AI applications using open models and open-source AI frameworks.
The practice will initially work with clients across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, including India. Deloitte said it will support organisations in choosing and deploying open models based on their business requirements, regulatory environment and technology infrastructure.
The practice will focus initially on enterprise AI applications built on NVIDIA Nemotron open models and NIM microservices. Deloitte said it will also support sovereign AI stacks, fine-tuning of open models and cybersecurity applications using open-source frameworks.
“Enterprise AI is becoming an architecture choice, not a model choice. Organisations will need the freedom to move workloads across models and environments as economics, regulation and business needs change,” said Sathish Gopalaiah, President, Consulting, Deloitte South Asia. “Open models add an important dimension to that strategy because they allow enterprises to shape AI around their own data, processes and context rather than designing the enterprise around the limitations of a model.”
Kari Briski, Vice President of Generative AI at NVIDIA, said enterprises would need both open and proprietary models for different workloads.
“Deloitte’s Open Model Engineering practice, built on NVIDIA Nemotron models, gives developers greater control over enterprise data and proprietary information while enabling secure, responsible deployment of Agentic AI,” Briski said.
Deloitte said it plans to hire, train and certify forward-deployed engineers through fiscal 2027. The engineers will work directly with clients on implementing open-model AI solutions.
