eGovWatch: Haryana govt launches online issuance of form ‘C’ for traders

The Haryana government launched online issuance of form ‘C’ for traders in the state.

The online service for issuance of form ‘C’ was launched by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

“Earlier, traders faced a lot of difficulties in getting this. Now, online service will pave the way for hassle-free issuance of the form,” the Chief Minister said.

It is mandatory for traders engaged in inter-state transactions to fill form C with their quarterly VAT returns.

Traders used to complain that these forms are out of stock and they had to buy from other states.

Khattar on this occasion said after successful testing of the facility for a month, it would be made compulsory for all traders. Manual issuance of Form ‘C’ was a time-consuming process and the traders had to face many problems, he said.

On the ongoing process of ‘Digital Haryana’ on the pattern of ‘Digital India’, the Chief Minister said, “We have listed 163 services which will be linked with online system to make their delivery hassle-free and transparent. Out of these, 23 services have been linked with online system. We will bring many more services online next year.”

To a query regarding implementation of the bio-metric attendance system in offices, he said that adequate infrastructure for making it a success was being provided.

The biometric attendance system is being implemented in a phased manner, he added.

Asked to comment on launch of ‘Padyatra’ and ‘Janjagran Abhiyaan’ by Haryana Congress in the state, Khattar said the opposition party was battling for political survival.

“Everybody has the right to raise issues in a democratic system. Instead of misleading the people, the opposition should play a constructive role and do constructive criticism,” he said.

“If they give any constructive suggestions, the government is open to consider them. Our government is working and will continue to work for the welfare of the state and its people”, Khattar said.

Speaking on the occasion, Excise and Taxation Minister Capt Abhimanyu today said it is an important day in the history of Haryana, especially for the tax management system.

After the change of regime seven months ago, the present government is doing its best to transform the system, he said.

“For the first time, allotment of liquor vends has been done through e-tendering which brought the state exchequer more revenue as compared to last year,” he added.

All activities of the department would now be done at the click of the mouse and rolled out within a month. Online issuance of form ‘C’ was a long pending demand of dealers which has now been met, he said.
