Electrosteel leverages Microsoft Cloud to reduce IT cost by 50%

Electrosteel Limited, a leading pipeline solutions provider today said that the company has reduced their IT cost by more than 50% and improved collaboration amongst its 1,200-strong workforce across two group companies (Electrosteel Castings and Electrosteel Steels) by deploying Microsoft Office 365. The cloud-based solution which includes Lync Online, One Drive, and Exchange Online has also helped the employees collaborate in a secure environment, protecting the company’s IP and improving R&D efforts.

Microsoft Office 365 has helped Electrosteel simplify IT operations and free-up resources from routine maintenance tasks. The IT teams at Electrosteel now focus on supporting the company’s core business, while their IT runs from Microsoft’s secure cloud datacenters. The savings from moving to the cloud has encouraged Electrosteel to devise a cloud roadmap that would see the company adopt higher end cloud services like BI and analytics in the near future.

Saradindu Paul, Associate VP, Electrosteel Group and Electrosteel Castings Limited said, “We have seen significant benefits of adopting Microsoft cloud with Office 365. The comprehensive line-up of SKUs of Office 365 has helped us choose the right mix of services for various types of workforce in our company. It has also helped the IT teams to offer higher value services to business while routine jobs are taken care of through the cloud. We will soon be adopting Yammer and Power BI.”

Alok Lall, Director – Microsoft Office Division, Microsoft India said, “Electrosteel has adopted comprehensive cloud-based productivity solutions with Office 365.
