Some edited excerpts:

Awiros was created with a bold vision to create the world’s first operating system for video intelligence. What sparked that idea? What have been some of the major milestones for the company since then?
Awiros was started with a visionary ambition: to create the world’s first operating system dedicated to video intelligence. Founded in 2015, the concept stemmed from my PhD research at Carnegie Mellon University and to develop a distributed software framework capable of running multiple solutions simultaneously.

At its core, Awiros is an enterprise-grade computer vision platform that streamlines the development and deployment of video AI applications across diverse industries. What truly differentiates Awiros is its end-to-end ecosystem—a scalable infrastructure that empowers rapid development, effortless deployment, and a dynamic marketplace that fosters innovation and broad use-case discovery.

While basic video analytics can be built with entry-level machine learning knowledge, crafting production-ready enterprise-grade solutions demands a sophisticated blend of tools and expertise. Awiros bridges this gap by drastically shortening the path from a lab model to a deployable product—reducing development time by up to 90%.

Today, Awiros is a Series A-funded company, having raised $7 million, with a growing team of over 80 professionals. The platform is being adopted across multiple geographies—including North America, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Latin America—by a diverse range of clients, including several Fortune 500 companies. Awiros continues to redefine the possibilities of video intelligence—making AI development faster, more scalable, and more impactful than ever before.

Awiros aims to democratize computer vision for developers and end users alike. What are some of the most promising and impactful use cases?
At Awiros, we believe that the true power of computer vision is unlocked through collaboration among all stakeholders—developers and end users. By bringing these groups together, we’ve been able to address real-world challenges across industries and drive meaningful, scalable impact.

Our platform, Awiros AppStack, features over 100 pre-trained video AI applications that support a broad range of use cases—from industrial automation and process monitoring to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) management and quality inspections. This robust suite has enabled some of the largest Video AI deployments including Safe and Smart City initiatives across 10+ major cities, collectively managing over 60,000 surveillance cameras.

Awiros is trusted by more than 50 enterprise clients globally, spanning India, North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Our flagship projects include integrating 33 international airports in India with advanced Video AI capabilities. We’re also partnering with one of the world’s leading aircraft engine manufacturers to automate engine inspections, replacing manual checks with AI-powered surgical precision.

What makes Awiros truly unique is its ability to manage complex, multi-application deployments while adapting quickly to new computer vision challenges—at scale.
In addition, our platform empowers a growing ecosystem of developers and partners to build, test, and deploy their own Video AI applications. With Awiros, they’re able to make their solutions production-ready and scalable up to 10x faster than traditional approaches—accelerating innovation and making the democratization of computer vision a global reality.

Video AI is transforming industries like manufacturing and security. What’s one untapped industry you think could benefit massively from Awiros’ technology in the next decade?
Video AI adoption is not only accelerating—it’s evolving rapidly, driven by rising expectations from stakeholders across industries. We’re seeing growing demand for advanced video intelligence solutions to address complex, high-stakes challenges—such as real-time SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) compliance, automation of visual inspections, behaviour analytics, and large-scale operational monitoring.

We see immense opportunity across sectors like oil & gas, construction, mining, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, healthcare, aviation, railways, and mobility—where video data can be harnessed to unlock operational insights, improve safety and compliance, and enhance overall efficiency. Even in sectors that have been slower to adopt AI, there is a clear shift toward intelligent systems capable of real-time analysis and actionable insights. As industries continue to digitize, the role of Video AI is expanding from passive surveillance to becoming a proactive force in operational intelligence.

Looking ahead, the future of Video AI will be driven by its integration with innovative technologies that amplify its reach and effectiveness—from smarter hardware and scalable cloud infrastructure to adaptive learning systems. Awiros is building toward this vision by offering the foundational platform that enables industries to deploy, scale, and evolve Video AI solutions quickly and cost-effectively—turning video data into a strategic asset for the decade ahead.

Awiros has impacted sectors like aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, oil & gas, safe/smart cities and many more. Which project are you most proud of, and why?
At Awiros, we take pride in every partnership we’ve built—each one represents a shared vision and a collaborative effort to solve meaningful real-world problems. Our journey across sectors has been defined by a consistent, solution-focused approach and an unwavering commitment to impact.

What makes us truly proud is the trust we’ve been able to establish with our stakeholders—customers, partners, and investors alike. Their belief in our platform and our people is what drives us. Our team’s strength lies in its ability to stay agile, transparent, and outcomes-oriented, regardless of the complexity or scale of the challenge. Our goal has always been to deliver technology that performs reliably in critical environments.

Ultimately, the project we’re most proud of is the one we’re working on right now—with every new deployment, we expand the spectrum of what’s possible with Video AI. And we do it with a passionate, inclusive team that’s committed to excellence and energized by the trust our stakeholders continue to place in us.

Where do you see Awiros in the global computer vision market five years from now?
