Infor Dynamic Science Labs to focus on big data

Infor, a business application software provider has said that it has set up a new internal organisation Infor Dynamic Science Labs, which will focus on infusing machine-learning and big data analytics into company’s applications and enhance its capabilities.

Infor Dynamic Science Labs powered applications will go beyond collecting, reporting, and distributing information. It will anticipate problems and respond with solutions, uncover opportunities and recommend next steps, and help organisations answer most pressing questions.

Harnessing big data today is a luxury, but it will soon be a business imperative for companies to remain competitive, and this transformation will happen quickly,” said Duncan Angove, President – Infor.

Infor to make science a core competency by establishing Infor Dynamic Science Labs as an in-house department working across its product lines. Currently, it has two applications that deliver science-powered smart data, its revenue management system optimizes 350,000 hotel rooms a day, and its talent science application has conducted behavioral assessments for 11 percent of the US workforce.

Dr. Ziad Nejmeldeen, a software veteran with a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will lead Infor Dynamic Science Labs. Based in the Kendall Square neighborhood in Cambridge, Mass, the Infor Dynamic Science Labs team brings together scientists, mathematicians, engineers and economists to help companies make decisions with the predictive power of science.
