Intel will focus on accelerating desktop growth by enabling a larger number of Intel Technology Providers to adopt AIOs. Rajiv Bhalla, Director – Strategic Initiatives, Intel South Asia, said, “All-in-Ones will be a fast-moving category for Intel Technology Providers. The overwhelming response to our initial pilot project in East regions is testimony to this fact. We are helping Intel Technology Providers and original design manufacturers to work together on different SKUs for All-In-Ones. With the increased market interest and growth in the All-in-One segment over the past few years, we feel there is a real opportunity to enable the smaller system integrators with this form factor.”
According to the worldwide and US PC client sub form factor 2011–2015 forecast by IDC, AIO desktops are gaining traction in the desktop market, mostly driven by the consumer segment. A decline in prices has led to more consumers are showing interest in the AIO form factor and touch technologies. As per IDC, shipments of AIOs in India have been growing steadily for the past five quarters with an average of 65,000 units shipped per quarter.
