Konica Minolta launches new industrial printer in India

The bizhub PRESS C71cf is targeted at small and medium size businesses

Japanese technology firm Konica Minolta has forayed into the high potential industrial printing segment in India with the launch of bizhub PRESS C71cf printing machine.

Bizhub PRESS C71cf is targeted as an optimum printing solution for small and medium size businesses in the label and packaging segment.

According to company officials, the machine which uses the Konica Minolta’s dry toner technology is an end to end printing solution for mid-range businesses operating in the label printing segment with varied requirements.

The machine offers printing resolution of 1200 dots per inch (dpi), equivalent to 3600 dpi *1200dpi/8bit and prints images with a maximum size of 1195×320 mm.

At present the global market size of industrial printing, including packaging, textiles and labels stands at $456.5 billion. This creates a huge potential for digital printing in the segment as a significant number of industrial printing businesses still rely on analogue printing and are struggling to meet the new emerging demands in the printing segment. Konica Minolta looks to explore this opportunity with this launch.

Company is of the view that the major challenge upfront the digital printing segment is the lack of computer literate, IT proficient and internet savvy business professionals in the industrial printing domain. Hence, the new digital printing solutions have been tailored considering this challenge and offer ease of use features.
