Magellanic Cloud Limited has entered the AI-powered fuel infrastructure market after its wholly owned subsidiary, Provigil Surveillance Limited, received a ₹44.60 lakh purchase order from Nayara Energy Limited.
Under the contract, Provigil Surveillance will deploy an AI-powered Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and video analytics platform across selected retail outlets and oil depots.
The deployment will integrate computer vision with forecourt dispensing infrastructure to support vehicle-to-dispense validation, security monitoring and depot safety management information system (MIS) reporting.
Magellanic Cloud said the contract marks its expansion into AI-enabled fuel retail automation and enterprise surveillance. The company expects the initial deployment to provide a basis for pursuing further opportunities as oil marketing companies digitise retail outlets and distribution depots.
The platform is intended to automate checks linking vehicles with fuel dispensing activity, while also supporting security and safety monitoring at fuel outlets and depots.
Joseph Sudheer Reddy Thumma, chairman and managing director, Magellanic Cloud, said the contract represents an operational milestone as the company expands its AI surveillance capabilities into the energy retail sector.
“As oil marketing companies accelerate forecourt digitisation, our AI video analytics provide the infrastructure needed for loss prevention and efficiency,” Thumma said.
The company said the deployment could create opportunities for further rollouts across private and public-sector oil marketing company outlets and distribution depots. However, the announcement did not specify additional contracts or a timeline for any wider deployment.
The purchase order is valued at ₹4,460,400.
