Following its recent ₹100 crore investment announcement to strengthen AI infrastructure in India, US-headquartered Evolution Cloud Services (EVOCS), through its Indian entity Velloe, hosted a leadership roundtable and launch event in Mumbai, bringing together government representatives, technology leaders, enterprise customers and channel partners to discuss the country’s next phase of AI-driven digital transformation.
The event was attended by Shri Ashish Shelar, the Hon’ble Minister of Information Technology and Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, who emphasised the growing role of artificial intelligence in governance, industry and employment while reaffirming Maharashtra’s commitment to building a technology-driven economy.
Speaking at the event, Shelar highlighted the state’s focus on accelerating AI adoption through initiatives such as the recently announced Maha AI platform, designed to improve administrative efficiency, streamline workflows and strengthen digital governance.
“Technology and AI will play a critical role in shaping the future of governance, businesses and employment opportunities. Maharashtra continues to focus on creating an ecosystem that encourages innovation, improves efficiency and attracts global technology capabilities. We welcome organisations like Velloe that bring international expertise, investment and skilled employment opportunities to Maharashtra and India,” he said.
AI-ready infrastructure takes centre stage
The discussions centred on the growing need for AI-ready infrastructure as organisations transition from conventional digital transformation initiatives towards AI-powered enterprise operations.
Industry participants highlighted that large-scale AI adoption will require integrated cloud infrastructure, modern data centres, observability platforms, cybersecurity, automation and skilled technology talent to support increasingly complex enterprise workloads.
India becomes a strategic growth hub
Speaking at the event, Thomas Joseph Marcin, Co-Founder and CEO, EVOCS APAC, said India has emerged as one of the company’s most important strategic markets because of its talent ecosystem, digital ambitions and favourable business environment.
“India represents one of the most exciting technology opportunities globally. The country has the right combination of talent, innovation capability and digital ambition to become a global leader in AI-driven transformation. Through Velloe, our objective is to bring EVOCS’ global expertise and work closely with Indian enterprises to build future-ready technology ecosystems,” he said.
Marcin also said geopolitical considerations played an important role in EVOCS’ long-term expansion strategy.
“Having experienced geopolitical challenges in previous international investments, we wanted to build in markets where long-term partnerships could thrive. The India-US relationship gives us the confidence to invest for the long term, and we see India as a trusted strategic partner for our global growth.”
He added that EVOCS plans to strengthen India’s data centre talent pool through structured international training programmes.
“We are investing not only in infrastructure but also in people. Engineers recruited in India will have opportunities to work on projects in North America, gain hands-on experience and return with global expertise to help build India’s digital infrastructure.”
The company also intends to deepen collaborations with universities and academic institutions to help develop industry-ready talent for data centre infrastructure, cloud engineering and AI operations.
Expanding AI infrastructure capabilities
Earlier this month, EVOCS announced its entry into India through Velloe with a planned investment of ₹100 crore aimed at strengthening AI infrastructure, cloud transformation capabilities and digital engineering operations.
The company recently inaugurated its Innovation Centre in Noida and plans to expand its Indian workforce from more than 100 professionals currently to around 250 employees over the next 18 to 24 months. New offices are also planned in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Jaipur.
According to Arvind Sharma, President, EVOCS India, India will play a much larger role than being a delivery destination.
“India is not just a market for EVOCS; it is a strategic innovation hub. The future of AI will depend on the strength of the infrastructure that supports it. Through Velloe, we aim to build capabilities that help enterprises accelerate innovation, improve efficiency and unlock meaningful outcomes from their digital transformation journeys.”
Sharma added that the company’s upcoming Offshore Development Centre in Jaipur would serve both as an engineering hub and a talent development centre to strengthen India’s AI ecosystem.
Building intelligent infrastructure
Sumit Kumar, Chief Technology & Innovation Officer, EVOCS India, outlined the company’s technology vision around AI-ready enterprise architecture.
“AI is fundamentally an infrastructure challenge before it becomes an application opportunity. Enterprises today require scalable, secure and intelligent digital foundations that can support the next generation of AI-driven businesses.”
In a separate interaction, Kumar said EVOCS differentiates itself by connecting infrastructure observability with business outcomes rather than treating infrastructure management as an isolated IT function.
He explained that the company’s platform combines architecture assessment, observability, operational analytics and business intelligence into a unified framework capable of helping enterprises measure AI readiness, optimise infrastructure utilisation and improve GPU and cloud resource efficiency.
The company is also developing intelligent observability capabilities that analyse workload behaviour, infrastructure utilisation and token consumption across AI deployments to improve performance while controlling operational costs.
Focus on measurable business outcomes
Speaking about the company’s commercial strategy, Yogesh Sahu, Chief Product & Business Officer, EVOCS APAC, said enterprises increasingly require technology investments that directly support business objectives.
“The organisations that will lead in the coming decade are those that successfully connect technology infrastructure with measurable business outcomes. At Velloe, our focus goes beyond technology deployment, we are committed to enabling enterprises to build resilient, secure and scalable platforms that accelerate AI adoption, data-driven transformation and continuous innovation.”
During the discussions, company executives also highlighted EVOCS’ collaborative approach of building integrated ecosystems with hyperscalers, technology partners and customers to address enterprise challenges across cloud modernisation, observability, automation, AI infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Strengthening India’s AI ecosystem
The Mumbai event was also attended by William Higgo, Senior Director – Process Mining & Automation, EVOCS, along with enterprise customers, technology partners and industry representatives.
With operations spanning nine locations across North America, South America and Asia-Pacific, EVOCS said its India expansion through Velloe reflects its long-term strategy of positioning India as a major hub for AI infrastructure, cloud engineering and intelligent operations while supporting the country’s growing digital economy.
