Mauj Mobile extends partnership with the Akamai, to deliver 90% bandwidth offload

To be able to meet customer expectations, Mauj implemented Akamai’s Media Delivery Solutions, Fast DNS and cloud monitor solutions, which helped Mauj deliver gaming content securely with more than 90 percent bandwidth offload.

Mauj Mobile has announced an extension of its partnership with Akamai Technologies, Inc., the global player in Content Delivery Network (CDN) services. This is in continuation of the companies’ longstanding association that began in 2012 to deliver online content to their consumers across India.

Mauj Mobile currently has over 100MM game downloads (in the last 12 months) through its two market places Mobango.com and newly launched Gamesbond.com. About 30-40 percent of downloads are on mobile operator data networks and the remaining 60 percent through Wi-Fi networks.

Globally given the increasing availability of high spec handsets, the size of games is increasing with the average size of games currently at 40MB (Source: ABIresearch). The game download distribution on Mobango.com also shows similar trend for India with more than 40 percent of downloads for games greater than 20MB in size.

India is witnessing a massive growth in the number of games downloads. However, Internet connectivity poses as a barrier in the number of downloads that can be made either directly from mobile operator networks or Wi-Fi. To be able to meet customer expectations, Mauj implemented Akamai’s Media Delivery Solutions, Fast DNS and cloud monitor solutions, which helped Mauj deliver gaming content securely with more than 90 percent bandwidth offload.
