NxtWave and Automation Anywhere roll out nationwide push to train one lakh learners in agentic AI and automation

NxtWave and Automation Anywhere have launched what they describe as India’s largest upskilling initiative focused on artificial intelligence and agentic process automation, aiming to train more than 1,00,000 students and young professionals over the next year.

The programme, announced this week, brings together NxtWave, an education platform focused on industry-aligned digital skills, and Automation Anywhere, a global automation and AI firm. It seeks to equip learners with hands-on experience in agentic AI and automation technologies that are increasingly being deployed across enterprise environments.

The initiative builds on a pilot that trained over 7,000 students and now scales it into a national commitment. Rather than focusing on narrow, task-based training, the programme is positioned as end-to-end workforce development, exposing learners to enterprise-grade applied AI platforms and real-world automation use cases across sectors such as banking, healthcare and manufacturing.

A key focus is on early-career readiness. The programme targets young professionals aged 18 to 24, including undergraduate students, with the aim of introducing industry-relevant automation skills before they enter the job market. Participants will receive free access to Automation Anywhere’s learning content and tools, removing cost barriers that often limit access to advanced AI education.

According to the companies, NxtWave will handle structured onboarding, guided engagement and curated learning pathways to ensure systematic skill development. High-performing learners will also be eligible for internships with stipends in India, working with Automation Anywhere’s sales, engineering and professional services teams.

“India’s economy has long thrived on task-based outsourcing jobs, but AI is rapidly automating these roles,” said Neeti Mehta Shukla, Co-founder and Chief Impact Officer at Automation Anywhere. “That’s why this partnership is so vital. We are helping young people move from task workers to knowledge workers, capable of managing enterprise-level AI systems, so they can build sustainable careers in a world where work that once took weeks is now done in hours.”

Beyond technical exposure, learners will earn globally recognised certifications, preparing them for roles across IT services as well as within Automation Anywhere’s customer and partner ecosystem. The emphasis, the companies said, is on creating clear global career pathways aligned with high-demand automation and AI roles.

Rahul Attuluri, CEO and Co-founder of NxtWave, said the initiative directly links academic potential with industry demand. “We are training undergraduate students on enterprise-grade agentic process automation technology, enabling them to solve real-world challenges with secure, governed automation,” he said. “This creates a future-ready talent pipeline that strengthens India’s digital economy and supports global enterprise transformation.”

By combining academic learning with enterprise AI tools and applied projects, the NxtWave–Automation Anywhere collaboration aims to address a growing skills gap as agentic AI and automation move from experimentation into mainstream business operations. The partners believe the initiative will play a role in reshaping India’s workforce for an era where intelligent automation is central to how organisations operate and compete globally.
