Tech Mahindra has announced a collaboration with AI coding platform provider SpaceXSI to help enterprises modernise legacy applications, accelerate software delivery and improve developer productivity through AI-powered software engineering.
The collaboration combines Tech Mahindra’s engineering, enterprise transformation and AI consulting capabilities with SpaceXSI’s AI-powered development platform. The offering is designed to help organisations integrate AI-assisted engineering across the software development lifecycle while maintaining governance, security and compliance requirements.
The companies will focus on application modernisation, software development efficiency and code quality, targeting enterprises across technology, telecommunications, banking and financial services, manufacturing, healthcare and retail.
The partnership comes as enterprises look to move beyond isolated AI experiments and integrate AI into software development processes at scale. For large engineering teams, this involves deploying AI-assisted tools across diverse environments while maintaining oversight of code quality and mission-critical applications.
“Enterprises today are moving beyond isolated AI experiments and looking to embed intelligence across the entire software development lifecycle to improve productivity, accelerate innovation, and deliver better business outcomes,” said Sumit Kumar Popli, president, Technology, Media and Entertainment (TME) business at Tech Mahindra.
“With SpaceXSI, we aim to help customers adopt AI-powered software engineering at enterprise scale while maintaining the governance, security, and quality required for mission-critical applications,” Popli added.
Integrating AI into enterprise engineering workflows
As part of the collaboration, Tech Mahindra will bring GrokBuild capabilities into its engineering transformation and application modernisation services. The companies aim to help customers shorten development cycles, improve developer productivity and accelerate the delivery of software.
The initiative will also include joint go-to-market activities, customer engagements, industry-specific solutions and enablement programmes. These efforts are intended to support enterprise adoption and help customers assess the business outcomes of AI-powered software engineering.
Toni Adams, head of global partnerships at SpaceXSI, said enterprises increasingly recognise AI’s potential to change software development but need support to deploy it across large and varied engineering teams.
“What they need is expertise in rolling it out across diverse and large engineering teams without breaking what already works. That’s what Tech Mahindra brings, and it’s why we’re working together to bring GrokBuild into everyday engineering workflows,” Adams said.
Focus on enterprise-wide adoption
Beyond platform integration, Tech Mahindra will establish enablement and certification programmes, joint customer success initiatives and an alliance framework to support wider adoption.
The companies intend to help enterprises incorporate AI into existing engineering workflows while strengthening operational governance. This includes addressing the requirements of organisations that need to modernise legacy systems without disrupting established applications and processes.
The collaboration extends Tech Mahindra’s focus on AI-enabled technology consulting and digital transformation. Its success will depend on how effectively enterprises integrate AI coding capabilities into their development environments and translate productivity improvements into measurable outcomes, while maintaining the security and reliability required for business-critical software.
