Toshiyuki Kasai appointed as the new President of Epson India

Epson, provider of digital imaging and printing solutions has appointed Toshiyuki Kasai as President, Epson India. Heading the newly created position, Toshiyuki will be based out of Epson India’s Bangalore headquarters. Toshiyuki, an Industrial Engineer from Waseda University brings with him experience spanning to 30 years, spent in various capacities within the Seiko Epson group. In further development, Epson India will now be reporting directly to Seiko Epson Japan.

As per latest IDC data for the inkjet printer market (Q4 2011), Epson has a market share of 36.6%. In dot matrix printers Epson has 54% market share and in point of sale printers, 52% market share. The company expects to close this year with a turnover of approx Rs. 590 crores.

Toshiyuki has worked in various functions including production control, purchase, information systems, corporate planning, business planning, profit management and various project activities. This is Toshiyuki’s third posting out of Japan. He has spent 7 years at Epson Portland (USA) and was subsequently the Senior Vice President of Business Infrastructure at Epson Europe. Prior to joining Epson India, Toshiyuki was the Head of Business Management for the Imaging & Information Division at Seiko Epson Japan.
