Virat-Anushka Invest In Insurance Startup ‘Digit’

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have jointly invested 2.2 crores in an insurance startup called Digit. The startup is backed by Prem Watsa, a Canadian billionaire and works towards simplifying insurance for people. 

The total investment in the startup is $84 million in which Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli has invested Rs 1.73 crores and actor Anushka Sharma has given Rs 43 lakhs, as seen in the filings. They now have 0.25% shares in the company. The funding isn’t raised based on any brand partnership. The duo is genuinely impressed by Digit’s business concept. 

Other major investors in this round of funding were TVS Capital, A91 Partners and Faering Capital. The insurance startup has close to 50 lakh customers and brings in around $300 million in premium. The company accounts for a 1.2% market share in the general insurance industry.
