Volkswagen Group India today inaugurated the Volkswagen Group IT Regional Competency Centre (RCC) at Hinjewadi Tech Park in Pune. With the goal of insourcing IT solutions for the group, Volkswagen Group IT has taken the step to setup the RCC. Catering to the global operations of all the brands of Volkswagen Group, the RCC is expected to bring in foreign revenue besides creating high value employment for IT professionals.
IT has become an integral part of automotive industry. To cater to the integrated and sophisticated IT requirements and to insource business critical process knowledge and technological know-how in the long run, Volkswagen Group IT has set up this Regional Competency Centre (RCC).
The Volkswagen Group IT RCC was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Martin Hofmann, CIO Volkswagen Group IT and Mahesh Kodumudi, Chief Representative, Volkswagen Group India.
The RCC will be the third one under the Volkswagen Group worldwide with the first two being in Europe and North America. This Pune facility will support the Volkswagen Group across all brands and regions.
The centre has over 100 IT professionals and plans to grow significantly in the coming years. These professionals are experts in various IT technologies such as SAP, Microsoft, Java, .NET, BI, BO, Big Data and Mobility Solutions. The facility will provide Project Management and Support Services to the various brands, regions and companies under the Volkswagen Group. The RCC will provide 24×7 Support for application services and project rollouts.
