[1] In 1986, with the setup of Centre for Rail Information System (CRIS), our digitalization started. Now it’s around 30 years of digitalization at Indian Railways
[2] A few years back, we have joined hands with ISRO and we started using satellite data the implementation of Real Time Information System (RTIS)
[3] In coming future, we are modernising our systems that will help us to cater to 2.5 lakh tickets per minute from 25,000 tickets per minute
[4] Nearly a decade back we completely computerised and automated the Unreserved Ticketing System. So, passengers can book their tickets through a kiosk at the station
[5] We have deployed a Freight Operations Information System wherein we have electronic registration on demand, electronic transfer of railway receipt, online tracking of the consignment. Also, for ease of operations we have Rail Sugam App
[6] Around 99 percent of our procurement transactions are cashless
