Fortinet, a global network security provider today announced that NxtGen Datacenter & Cloud Technologies has deployed its security solutions including FortiGate network security platforms, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer centralized management and reporting appliances.

Bangalore based NxtGen chose Fortinet over competing network security players for its performance, effective single pane management and simple per-box licensing model.

The Fortinet deployment enables NxtGen to offer customisable cloud security services that gives customers the flexibility to set up firewall preferences of their choice. Their enterprise cloud services also provides gateway level advance threat protection with traffic scanning and reporting.

“We were looking for a network security vendor who could quickly and effectively help us start up a Managed Security Services business. Fortinet has enabled us to meet many of our customers’ needs with their high performing yet easy to manage solutions. Their simplified per box licensing also makes a lot of financial sense to managed security services providers,” said A S Rajgopal, CEO, NxtGen.

By deploying FortiGate’s network security platform at NxtGen’s 24×7 command center, the service provider has created a virtualised security architecture for its host servers. The data centre has enabled advanced threat protection by activating security features like IPS, application control, web filtering, VPN, WAN optimization anduser authentication.

NxtGen also leverages Fortinet’s FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer appliances to easily manage and centrally configure all its firewalls, and enable policy-based provisioning, update management and end-to-end network monitoring.

This gives NxtGen full control over its managed security services as well as it can expand its range of managed services by providing secure access for remote employees, secure hosting services, secure private cloud and centrally managed on-premise data centre solutions.

All these capabilities have given NxtGen an edge in servicing key enterprise customers in India’s fast expanding cloud and data centre market.

“Fortinet’s high performing, manageable and cost effective network security platforms are well placed to help managed services providers cope with the rigorous demands of today’s IT services industry,”  said Rajesh Maurya, Country Manager  – India & SAARC, Fortinet.

“Our heavy investment in threat research further gives us unique ability to deal with advanced persistent threats (APTs), helping service providers differentiate themselves by offering their customers proactive protection against emerging threats,” added Maurya.
