Google India on Tuesday said it has partnered firms like Snapdeal, Axis Bank, HUL and GSK to launch a new initiative ‘#TogetherOnline’ to encourage more women to use the Internet.

The nine-week initiative will see a number of activities across India, starting with a concert with Farhan Akhtar to raise awareness amongst the youth in metro cities, Google India said in a statement.

Axis Bank, on its part, will host special digital literacy workshops for women customers in their branches across India, while Snapdeal will run campaigns amongst its shoppers and educate women on the entrepreneurial opportunities on their platform, it added.
