India will witness massive investments in the field of data centers: Vinay HP, Director- IT Business Unit, Rittal India

India’s data center market is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years and global data center providers are starting to enter the local market at a consistent pace. The country is on the verge of becoming a data center hub for large conglomerates from around the world. There are massive investments being made by different data center players in many parts of India for the same.

The data center initiatives in India are also supported by the Government of India and the Digital India Initiative is promoting the need for more digital infrastructure and increased internet connectivity.

Express Computer had an opportunity to interact with Vinay HP – Director – IT Business Unit, Rittal India. He spoke about the growth of data centers in India and the demand for data center services in various regions of the country.

Vinay HP said, “Data is going to explode shortly in India and we are and will be seeing a lot of investments happening in the field of data centers. Talking from a technical point of view, I think this market is definitely going to grow at a fast rate. And with the new bill coming up, all data will be in India, which means, all data centers will have their data stored ihere. And that is a wonderful opportunity for OEMs and data center solution providers like us; and we are able to foresee huge opportunities coming up for data center infrastructure.”

He further added by saying, “There are certain compliances that certain enterprises would  have to use and most organisations are aware of that. And with the current scenario, we see a huge amount of possibilities for data centers to come up and thrive in India. We see a lot of traction happening across most of the regions in India and our country is very well suited for building a robust data center ecosystem. So most data center organisations will  be keen to come to India and invest here.”
