Well known CIO, Abhijit Bhalerao, has joined Raymond as the CIO of its Lifestyle Business, reporting directly to the CEO.
With an impressive track record spanning over 23 years, Abhijit possesses a deep understanding of professional and technology consulting, specializing in IT strategy, execution, and innovation. His expertise extends to IT budgets, policies, compliance, and roadmap development, as well as managing large-scale SAP transformations, data security, risk frameworks, and IT integrations during business mergers and acquisitions.
Abhijit joins Raymond from Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Ltd., where he held the position of Chief Information Officer, leading the charge in driving technology initiatives. His exceptional leadership skills were instrumental in successfully spearheading enterprise-wide transformations, including Data Center consolidation with DR setup, ERP upgrades to SAP S/4 HANA, Supply Chain optimization, Sales Workforce automation, and the digitalization of HR processes.
Prior to Nuvoco Vistas, Abhijit served as Head of Group IT at Force Motors Ltd, providing strategic direction, policy formulation, budget management, vendor coordination, and overseeing the implementation and support of critical groupwide initiatives like S4 HANA, PLM, and MES.
During his tenure at Ernst & Young LLP, Abhijit excelled as a Director, leading the competency and delivery of Business Applications and Infrastructure Solutions. He played a pivotal role in incubating and scaling-out SAP Bolt-On Solution, a key component of EY’s DigiGST offering, benefitting over 100 Indian clients.
Abhijit’s impressive career also includes impactful roles at HCL Technologies Ltd., where he served as Operations Director – Technical (SAP) & Analytics, and Aegis Ltd-Essar Group, where he held the position of Associate Vice President. These roles showcased his expertise in enterprise application transformations, infrastructure management, mobility and analytics, as well as seamless application integration for international projects. At each organization, he made remarkable contributions, driving strategic direction, overseeing critical initiatives, and delivering transformative results.
Abhijit’s passion for innovation and leveraging emerging technologies to deliver business-focused solutions has earned him numerous industry honours and accolades. He holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University and a Master’s in Computer Software & Applications from KJ. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR), Mumbai. Additionally, Abhijit is a SAP Certified Solutions Consultant.
His multifaceted interests also include a keen passion for farming, further exemplifying his commitment to holistic growth and sustainable practices.
