Just a day before Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu presents Union Rail Budget 2016,  Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a tie-up with a private chain of hotels for providing standardised accommodation to train travellers – the aim is to offer a convenient booking platform.

Just a day before Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu presents Union Rail Budget 2016, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a tie-up with a private chain of hotels for providing standardised accommodation to train travellers – the aim is to offer a convenient booking platform. Indian Railways tie-up with OYO Rooms offers a hassle-free platform for IRCTC customers to book hotel rooms across 170 cities in the country.

The partnership will facilitate OYO to power the IRCTC hotel-booking page, offering their inventory and promise of standardised amenities to passengers, IRCTC CMD A K Manocha said.The IRCTC partnership symbolises the growing leverage of synergy between the government and home-grown Indian businesses.

The partnership contributes another chapter to the successful narrative of ‘Make in India’ initiatives and how tech-enabled solutions will power innovation, he said. IRCTC-OYO Rooms will offer nearly 45,000 hotel rooms. The IRCTC portal witnesses 5 to 5.5 lakh bookings per day on an average.
