Flipkart has announced the appointment of IT industry veteran Ravi Garikipati as ‘entrepreneur in residence’— a new position to focus on its new projects.
Flipkart has announced the appointment of IT industry veteran Ravi Garikipati as ‘entrepreneur in residence’— a new position to focus on its new projects. Garikipati will work closely with Sachin, Binny and Mukesh Bansal on high-impact business projects.
In his new role, Garikipati will drive innovative changes for a mix of new, independent and existing businesses. His first assignment will be to help Flipkart scale up its new ads initiative.
Flipkart will soon start showing ads from sellers on its website, along with sponsored product placements. Garikipati will work on this initiative, besides other innovative revenue models. In its attempt to strengthen the top team, Flipkart has made at least six senior-level appointments this year.

Garikipati has 25 years’ experience in building products and holds a masters in software engineering and management.
