Hitachi Data Systems announces broad support for System Center 2012

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd, has announced new versions of Hitachi solutions built on Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track. These new solutions add broad support for System Center 2012, including System Center 2012 monitoring packs and PowerShell cmdlets (pronounced “command-lets”). This support provides seamless integration with the Virtual Machine Manager component of System Center 2012 and transparent live migration of virtual machines on the same site and across multi-site deployments up to distances of 200 kilometers, or 125 miles. The new Hitachi solutions built on Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track also support full provisioning of compute and storage resources, allowing customers to quickly provision virtual machines with full support for the Orchestrator component of System Center 2012.

Hitachi solutions built on Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track combine Hitachi compute and storage with industry-standard network infrastructure and Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V and System Center 2012 software.

“The new Hitachi solutions built on Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track provide our customers with a consistent and scalable infrastructure as a service that can be quickly deployed to host Microsoft applications,” said Brian Householder, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, Business Development and Partners, Hitachi Data Systems. “For private Cloud deployments, we provide a foundation on which Microsoft software, guidance and validated configurations are combined with Hitachi compute, storage and software technologies. Our joint customers can quickly build a private Cloud infrastructure that has flexible, just-in-time provisioning and dedicated resources with efficient operations that are optimized to control shared capabilities, data and costs.”

“The new Hitachi solutions built on Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track bring together mission-critical expertise from Hitachi and Microsoft with the proven value of System Center 2012, Windows Server and Windows Server Hyper-V in a validated private Cloud architecture,” said Brad Anderson, Vice President, Management and Security, at Microsoft. “The goal is to help customers quickly and reliably deploy a private Cloud based on the expertise and experience of both Hitachi and Microsoft.”
