Rama Devi Women’s University PG Department of Education Organises Two-Day National Webinar

School of Pedagogical Sciences (Education), PG Department of Education, Rama Devi Women’s University organised a two-day National Webinar on “Pedagogical Innovations in Higher Education during COVID-19” on 23 & 24 June 2020 under the guidance and supervision of the Vice Chancellor Professor Padmaja Mishra.

The Chairperson, PG Council Prof. Sasmita Mohanty delivered the inaugural speech on how new pedagogical perspectives and examination reforms will help managing the current pandemic situation and the students can get a better scope to learn through online platforms. The HOD, Education, Dr. Sankar Prasad Mohanty presented theme of the webinar and introduced the Guests and Resource Persons.

As a resource person Prof. B.N. Panda, Dean-Research, RIE, NCERT, Bhubaneswar delivered his talk on Higher Education status with regard to Quality, Challenges and suggested various measures to address the issues during the current scenario. Prof. Vijay Kumar Chechi of Lovely Professional University, Punjab addressed on Paradigms of Research in Education and analysed how research is essential in social sciences particularly in education to bring systemic changes.

Prof. Anil Kumar, former Professor of NITTTR, Bhopal discussed about examination and assessment strategies during COVID-19. During the valedictory session, Prof. Nityananda Pradhan, Principal, RIE, NCERT, Bhopal highlighted various curricular reforms and its management in higher education.

He discussed about how Pedagogy 2.0 and other innovations are essential in the generation of Education 4.0 for improvement of Higher Education. More than 300 participants attended the webinar. Dr. Sasmita Kar and Dr. Ashok Kumar Digal Faculty Members of the Department acted as moderators in the sessions. Mr. Debasis Nayak and Mr. Alok Barik helped in managing logistics.
