Venttup raises $3 Mn in pre-series A round led by Rainmatter, Unicorn India ventures

Venttup, an engineering and precision manufacturing startup, has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round co-led by Rainmatter, backed by Zerodha, and Unicorn India Ventures. The company will use the funds to expand its engineering team, establish manufacturing and rapid-prototyping capabilities, and adopt AI to improve B2B sourcing and supplier intelligence.

The Bengaluru-based startup plans to strengthen its capabilities across energy transition, defence, aerospace, space systems and other industrial sectors. The investment is intended to support its expansion from engineering development and component validation to scalable production.

Venttup is also setting up a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru for precision machining, turning and sheet metal production. The facility will support component development and prototyping, helping customers move from initial designs to production-ready components. The company will also work with India’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to expand its manufacturing capacity.

“India’s next phase of manufacturing growth requires strong engineering capabilities that can translate complex requirements into validated, production-ready components,” said Sandeep Nair, Co-founder and CEO of Venttup. He said the company aims to combine design standardisation, prototyping, testing and scalable production through India’s MSME ecosystem.

Rainmatter’s investment follows growing demand for domestic manufacturing and supply-chain localisation in critical sectors. Abhinav Singh Negi, Lead – Climate and Deeptech at Rainmatter, said hardware startups often face challenges in finding manufacturing partners capable of taking products from validation to production. He said Venttup’s combination of an in-house precision manufacturing facility and a network of quality-checked MSMEs could help address this gap.

Unicorn India Ventures, which invested in Venttup during its seed round in 2024, has co-led the latest funding round. Bhaskar Majumdar, Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures, said demand for precision manufacturing was expected to increase as India’s deep-tech ecosystem develops, particularly in defence and space applications.

Since its 2024 seed round, Venttup has grown its revenue fivefold to ₹10 crore in FY2025–26, according to the company. It has also added more than 15 large companies to its customer base over the past 12 months and reported a business opportunity pipeline of approximately ₹30 crore across new energy, mobility and smart infrastructure.

Venttup operates across four broad segments: energy transition and data centres; aerospace, defence and space systems; smart infrastructure and future mobility; and electronics, automation and smart manufacturing. The company aims to serve original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technology companies and deep-tech startups that require engineering development, component localisation and manufacturing support.

The funding will support Venttup’s efforts to expand its manufacturing infrastructure and develop its role in India’s domestic industrial supply chains, while serving customers seeking precision components and production capabilities.
