Xilinx opens expanded R&D facility in Hyderabad

Chip-designer Xilinx, inagurated its expanded facility for R&D and technical support in Hyderabad. The 131,000 square-foot office building is more than double the size of the previous site and accommodates engineering labs and collaboration space for end-to-end product development, a larger energy-efficient data center and expanded facilities for customer and employee events.

The Xilinx India site represents the largest R&D centre outside of the company’s U.S. Headquarters and is a key contributor to company’s all programable technologies and devices.

The Xilinx India engineering team will continue to play a pivotal role as part of Xilinx’s world-class PPD engineering organization. We have grown here from 60 professionals four years ago to 400 now. The investments in India will continue,” said Moshe Gavrielov, President and Chief Executive Officer, Xilinx Inc.

Currently, more than half the Zynq engineering team at Xilinx is based in India, with some aspects entirely designed and verified in India. The India team has the sole ownership and development responsibility for significant aspects of Xilinx next-generation tool suite accelerating programable design productivity.
