AI enabled predictive analytics helps farm entrepreneurs make informed decisions

Predictive farming analytics uses BI to collate, integrate, and analyse farming data and transform it into meaningful insights that give a peek into the health and volume of crop yields. The information is helpful in making otherwise challenging agronomic decisions quicker and easier, says Amit Sinha, Co-Founder of Unnati, a fintech powered agritech platform

Unnati is a fintech powered agritech platform, which is powering farm entrepreneurs and bringing efficiencies to their businesses via digital technologies. The startup addresses the issues that farmers in the country face owing to lack of knowledge and resources. From Unnati banking services to crop-specific advisory, the brand reaches out to the farmer at every step of the farming life-cycle and works with them to create a sustainable future.

The startup has successfully impacted over 250k farmers’ lives through its network of 17,000 uStores.

– Transaction platform that includes agri-input, farm output, and credit line services
– AI platform that provides tech enabled insights on agronomy
– Knowledge platform that acts as a knowledge bank for crops and products offered

What has been the impact of your tech innovations – from pre-harvest to post-harvest solutions?

Unnati’s platform offers pre-harvest guidance to post harvest services, along with banking services designed to fit the needs of the farmers.

The AI enabled predictive farming model is transforming ways of doing business for farm entrepreneurs and helping them maximise efficiency.

How is your predictive analytics technology helping farmers make informed decisions?

Predictive farming analytics uses BI to collate, integrate, and analyse farming data and transform it into meaningful insights that give us a peek into the health and volume of crop yields. The information is helpful in making otherwise challenging agronomic decisions quicker and easier.

Unnati’s predictive farming model is shaping the future of farming with its sophisticated technology. The model helps the farmers in making precise decisions which are based on over 200 parameters drawn from satellite information, transaction history, farmer’s pattern, soil information, and weather information among others.By learning from historical and future data based on measured variables massively impacts efficiencies and processes.

Unnati’s platform helps the farmers in identifying the best times for sowing, tracking the health of their crops throughout their cycle, identifying moisture pattern of crops, identifying nutrient movement and behavior, and predicting when and where the crops need protection products, all across varying conditions in the field. Unnati platform also helps the farmers to sell their produce with maximum profitability.

How is your BI solution streamlining business processes for agri traders and retailers?

Agri input retailers/small traders play a central role in the agricultural value chain by helping farmers with products and services needed to grow their crops and business. These include seeds, pesticides, fertilisers, herbicides, nutrients, equipment, and technology. Unnati’s technological expertise and business intelligence platform acts as a one stop solution for retailers/small traders which helps them in streamlining business processes, and provides better payment methods, and supply chain management of inputs as per understanding of demand.

What kind of association do you have with the government (Central and states) for the agricultural sector?

We are working with central and state government institutes in understanding agronomy and developing a knowledge platform for farmers that will help them in accessing better farm practices, increasing soil productivity, and troubleshooting related issues.

What are your plans for the future in terms of new technologies and strategic expansion?

We intend to expand our network of uStores and engage with more farmers across the country by expanding our geographies across the country, covering more districts in UP, Bihar, Maharashtra, AP, Telangana, Haryana, and Punjab. We plan to keep enhancing our intelligent platforms in order to address and resolve the issues faced by farmers in agronomy, and we strive to provide the farmers with relevant information that could help them streamline their business and maximise profitability. We are targeting expansion of the uStore network to 1 lakh stores in the near future.
