With Cognizant’s continued focus and investment in scaling our growing Cybersecurity practice, Vishal Salvi is taking on the role of Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head for the Cybersecurity business. He will be reporting to Annadurai Elango, President – Core Technologies & Insights, Cognizant.
Vishal joins Cognizant from Quick Heal Technologies Limited, a cybersecurity product company, where he held the position of Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he was Global Chief Information Security Officer, Business Head of the Cybersecurity Service Line & SVP at Infosys Ltd. His extensive expertise spanning more than three decades in cybersecurity, has also been honed through leadership roles at organizations such as PwC, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Global Trust Bank, Development Credit Bank, and Crompton Greaves.
A well-known global leader, Vishal comes with extensive management and domain experience in driving transformative Cybersecurity programs. He was an Independent Director of DSCI – Data Security Council of India for five years and is also member of multiple Advisory Councils and Boards to provide leadership and direction on various Cybersecurity issues, accelerating adoption of cybersecurity best practices across industries.
Vishal holds a degree in computer science engineering and MBA in Finance from Bombay University. He has also attended Executive Leadership Programs at Harvard, Stanford, and IIM Ahmedabad. His certifications include CISM and DSCI Certified Privacy Professional and has received numerous awards from prestigious institutions such as DSCI, CSO Forum, ISACA and more.
