CareEdge Ratings Limited, one of India’s leading credit rating agency, has announced on the stock exchanges (NSE & BSE) the appointment of Dr. A. Shiju Rawther as its Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO). Prior to this, Dr. Shiju served as Head of Information Technology at SBI Mutual Fund.
Dr. Shiju is a seasoned technology leader known for his strong business acumen and extensive experience in driving digital transformation, innovation, analytics, and value creation.
He is regarded as one of the most highly qualified technology professionals in the Indian capital markets industry.
Over the course of his career, he has held leadership roles at reputed organizations including Poonawalla Fincorp, IIFL Finance Limited, TransUnion CIBIL Limited, Fullerton India Credit Company Limited, PCS Technology Limited, Gateway Terminals India, Wipro InfoTech, and Primus Telecommunications India Limited.
Among his notable achievements, Dr. Shiju has successfully built end-to-end technology ecosystems covering applications, infrastructure, information security, and process automation from the ground up for two multinational startups in India.
Dr. Shiju is also actively associated with Technical Institutions as part CSR initiatives, where he shares his experience and industry insights with aspiring students, mentoring and guiding them for future careers in technology.
He is a recognized industry speaker and has been honored as one of India’s most innovative CIOs and consistently featured among the Top 100 CXO’s by leading industry forums and media groups. Dr. Shiju has published multiple research papers in reputed Scopus indexed international journals and is the holder of three patents registered with the Indian Patent Office, reflecting his strong contributions to applied research and innovation in cybersecurity and technology.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Bangalore University and a Management degree in Information Technology from Mumbai University. He has also earned a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering from Hindustan University, with research focused on securing networked systems against cyber-attack propagation using compartment models. Additionally, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws and Cyber Forensics from the National Law School of India University.
