At ImagiNxt 2026, a new collaborative initiative between MACCIA, Gaon Tithe Udyojak (GTU), and Circularity Innovation Hub India Pvt. Ltd. was unveiled to build scalable, technology-enabled village economies through a proposed 100 Village Circular Economy Pilot across Maharashtra.
The initiative reflects a growing convergence between circular economy systems, rural entrepreneurship, digital infrastructure, and community-led economic transformation, positioning villages as distributed innovation ecosystems rather than purely agricultural economies.
The proposed pilot aims to establish Circular Economy Innovation Hubs across selected villages and districts, focused on building local waste-to-wealth systems, productive infrastructure, entrepreneurship networks, and transparent economic participation models. The initiative is designed to create scalable frameworks for sustainable rural development using technology-enabled governance and resource optimisation.
From a technology perspective, the programme highlights how emerging tools such as digital infrastructure, impact-tracking systems, transparent capital deployment frameworks, and circular economy intelligence models are increasingly being integrated into grassroots economic development initiatives.
A key component of the initiative is the introduction of a financial and operational framework powered by Granullo, aimed at enabling transparent capital allocation, measurable impact tracking, and community reinvestment systems. This reflects the growing role of digitally governed economic ecosystems in rural transformation models.
The collaboration also points towards the rise of distributed circular economies, where local resources, waste streams, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship are coordinated through structured economic systems capable of generating long-term local value creation.
According to Ravindra Mangave, the next phase of the One Village, One Entrepreneur movement is focused not only on entrepreneurship enablement but also on building the infrastructure, partnerships, and systems required to create self-sustaining village economies.
Joel Michael highlighted the broader vision of creating shared-economy ecosystems where circularity transforms waste into productive assets while enabling cooperative participation and sustainable capital deployment.
The initiative also reflects a broader trend in India’s rural transformation strategy, where economic development is increasingly linked with technology-enabled local manufacturing, sustainable infrastructure, resource optimisation, and decentralised innovation models.
Beyond entrepreneurship, the project aims to explore scalable frameworks around productive infrastructure deployment, circular economy supply chains, sustainable rural industrialisation, and community-driven economic governance.
The event additionally featured the premiere of “Gaon Tithe Udyojak – Building Rural Economies of the Future”, showcasing how entrepreneurship, technology, and circular economic systems could reshape village-level development across Maharashtra.
Overall, the announcement at ImagiNxt 2026 reflects a broader shift underway in rural economic strategy—from traditional development programmes towards technology-enabled, circular, and entrepreneurship-led local economies, designed to create resilient, scalable, and sustainable growth ecosystems at the village level.
