Salesforce and Government of Tripura collaborate to skill 10,000+ learners and strengthen digital workforce readiness
Leveraging Trailhead, the initiative will support self-paced learning for students, youth, government employees, and entrepreneurs across the state.
Salesforce and the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, today announced a collaboration to expand access to digital skills and strengthen workforce readiness across the state. Announced at the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 in Agartala, the initiative aims to prepare students, youth, government employees and entrepreneurs for an AI-driven economy through Trailhead, Salesforce’s online learning platform. The initiative aims to reach more than 10,000 learners by 2027.
The collaboration will provide participants with practical digital and technology skills through curated, self-paced learning designed for beginner and intermediate learners. Participants will have access to guided learning paths covering areas such as CRM, business analysis and technology fundamentals. Salesforce will also provide online orientation resources to help learners navigate the platform.
The Directorate of Information Technology will identify participants through government departments, educational institutions and skill development agencies, while driving awareness and access to the programme across the state.
The collaboration comes as Tripura continues to expand its digital infrastructure and e-governance initiatives. The state is developing a dedicated Tripura IT and Data Ecosystem Zone (TIDEZ) in Agartala, alongside a planned IT Park and AI Centre of Excellence. It has also expanded its e-Office initiative from the State Secretariat to all three tiers of the Panchayati Raj system.
Shri Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Tripura, said, “Our partnership with Salesforce marks a key milestone in Tripura’s digital journey. With strong policy foundations already in place, this collaboration will equip our students, government workforce, and entrepreneurs with future-ready digital skills, driving innovation and inclusive growth. We look forward to working with a global technology leader to build a self-sustaining IT ecosystem and empower Tripura’s workforce to realise its full potential.”
Shri Jeya Ragul Geshan B, IFS, Director, Information Technology, Government of Tripura, said, “Tripura produces a strong pipeline of young talent every year; our priority is to match that talent with globally relevant skills. Partnering with Salesforce allows us to complement our investments in TIDEZ, the IT Park and the AI Centre of Excellence with a skilling layer that makes our workforce visible and valuable to industry.”
Arundhati Bhattacharya, President and CEO, Salesforce – South Asia, said, “India’s next wave of digital growth will be shaped by talent in every part of the country. Tripura’s focus on building skills alongside digital infrastructure is essential to making that growth inclusive. Through Trailhead, we are proud to help make practical learning more accessible and support students, government employees and entrepreneurs as they build capabilities for a rapidly changing economy.”
Trailhead provides technology and business learning through bite-sized modules and guided learning paths that can be completed at a learner’s own pace.
