Yotta and IntelliDB partner to build sovereign AI database infrastructure

0 3

Yotta Data Services and IntelliDB Enterprise have partnered to offer a managed, AI-ready database platform on Yotta’s sovereign cloud, targeting enterprises and government organisations that need to deploy production AI workloads while keeping data within India.

The partnership combines Yotta’s sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure with IntelliDB Enterprise’s PostgreSQL database management platform and native vector database capabilities. The companies said the joint offering is designed to support application modernisation and AI workloads while addressing data residency, regulatory compliance and operational resilience requirements.

The proposition comes as enterprise databases increasingly become part of the infrastructure required for generative AI and agentic AI applications. Such workloads require structured enterprise data to work alongside vector embeddings for applications including retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search and AI agents.

Under the partnership, Yotta and IntelliDB will provide a fully managed Database-as-a-Service offering hosted entirely within India. The platform combines PostgreSQL with vector database capabilities and managed cloud services, allowing organisations to build and operate AI applications without moving sensitive data outside the country.

The target market includes government organisations, banks and financial institutions, regulated industries, enterprises and digital-native businesses. Customers will be able to use the platform for both conventional enterprise applications and AI workloads, with capabilities including high availability, automated database operations and enterprise security.

The companies are also positioning the partnership as part of the development of India’s sovereign AI stack. Yotta has been expanding its infrastructure portfolio across sovereign cloud, AI infrastructure, GPU cloud, AI model services and enterprise AI platforms. IntelliDB adds a database layer to that stack, with the companies seeking to provide a more complete infrastructure foundation for AI applications.

“The next wave of enterprise transformation will be driven by AI, and every AI application depends on trusted, intelligent and sovereign data,” said Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, Managing Director & CEO, Yotta Data Services. “Our partnership with IntelliDB Enterprise strengthens this vision by adding an AI-ready database layer that enables organizations to build secure, scalable, and future-ready AI applications entirely on India’s sovereign digital infrastructure.”

For enterprises modernising legacy applications, the offering is also intended to provide a migration path from conventional PostgreSQL workloads towards AI-enabled applications. The companies said customers can use vector capabilities for RAG, intelligent search and agentic applications while continuing to run traditional enterprise workloads on the same database foundation.

Gagandeep Singh, Co-founder & CEO, IntelliDB Enterprise, said the underlying data infrastructure would be critical to the ability of organisations to scale their AI initiatives. “This partnership brings our secure, AI-powered and intelligent database platform to more Indian enterprises and government organizations, hosted entirely within India,” he said.

The partnership expands Yotta’s enterprise cloud portfolio beyond compute and infrastructure towards managed data services. Its significance lies in bringing the database layer into the sovereign cloud proposition, giving organisations a way to keep infrastructure, data and AI workloads within the same India-hosted environment as they move from AI experimentation towards production deployment.
