Bank of Baroda launches bob World 2.0, bringing AI-powered intelligence to mobile banking

Bank of Baroda has launched bob World 2.0, its next-generation mobile banking platform, marking the next phase of the bank’s digital transformation journey. The AI-powered platform was demonstrated at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on September 11 in the presence of Sanjay Lohiya, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, along with Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, and the bank’s Executive Directors.

Built on a modern microservices-based digital architecture, bob World 2.0 is designed to move mobile banking beyond conventional transactions towards a more intelligent, personalised and conversational experience. The platform also lays the foundation for a unified omnichannel digital banking ecosystem that will progressively extend across mobile and internet banking.

A key focus of the new platform is AI-driven conversational banking. Customers can use voice-enabled commands to navigate the application and initiate payments, making banking interactions more intuitive and accessible.

The platform also introduces a comprehensive Personal Financial Management (PFM) module, designed to give customers a consolidated view of their finances. By bringing financial information and insights together, the feature aims to help customers better understand their spending and improve overall financial wellness.

Another important element is hyper-personalisation. bob World 2.0 uses persona-based experiences to tailor the banking journey for different customer segments, including senior citizens, women, NRIs and millennials. This approach allows the platform to present relevant services and experiences based on individual customer needs.

Security has also been built into the platform through a multi-layered security framework aimed at providing real-time protection as customers interact with digital banking services.

Speaking about the launch, Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, said that customers increasingly expect banking experiences to be intuitive, intelligent, secure and highly personalised. He noted that bob World 2.0 brings together financial wellness tools, voice-enabled AI-driven engagement and personalised experiences on a single platform.

The launch reflects the broader shift taking place across banking, where AI is increasingly being integrated not just for back-end efficiency, but directly into customer-facing experiences. With bob World 2.0, Bank of Baroda is positioning its mobile banking platform as an intelligent financial ecosystem that can evolve alongside changing customer expectations.
