Wipro has launched Wipro STO360, a solution developed in collaboration with Saudi Aramco and SAP for managing shutdown, turnaround and outage (STO) activities across asset-intensive industries.
Built on SAP Business Technology Platform, the solution is designed to provide visibility into STO activities and support coordination and decision-making during maintenance programmes. Wipro said the solution will initially target sectors including oil and gas, chemicals, mining, manufacturing and utilities.
Vinay Firake, CEO of APMEA, Wipro Limited, said increasing operational complexity and regulatory requirements were driving the need for technology-led changes in asset-intensive industries.
“Asset heavy industries need to embrace AI-led transformation quickly and at scale due to the increasing complexity, regulatory expectations, and the need for operational excellence,” Firake said.
“Wipro STO360 is a future-ready solution that combines our deep industry expertise, capabilities of Wipro Intelligence, and cloud native engineering capabilities to help Aramco and other asset-intensive enterprises to optimise their STO operations, improving asset reliability, strengthening compliance, and unlocking measurable business value,” he added.
Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter, Aramco Executive Vice President of Technology & Innovation, said the company would implement the solution for its operations.

He said the solution would be used to support turnaround and inspection planning and execution.
“This initiative can support Aramco in optimising the Turnaround and Inspection planning and execution phases by increasing the process efficiency and productivity,” he added.
Darryl Gray, Global Senior Vice President of ISV Partner Management at SAP, said the solution formed part of the company’s broader partner ecosystem.
“Ecosystem innovations are essential to SAP’s vision and delivery of the Autonomous Enterprise for our customers,” Gray said. He added that Wipro STO360 had achieved SAP-endorsed app status.
