More than 300 companies from Chennai participated in an industry interaction organised by the Government of Karnataka ahead of the 29th Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2026, as the state sought to deepen participation from Tamil Nadu’s technology and start-up ecosystem.
The interaction in Chennai brought together technology companies, investors, entrepreneurs and industry representatives to discuss participation in BTS 2026, which will be held from November 17 to 19 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre under the theme ‘AI & Beyond’.
Dr N. Manjula, IAS, Secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, said the meeting was aimed at strengthening links between the technology ecosystems of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
“Bengaluru Tech Summit has evolved into a platform that brings together technology ecosystems, industries and innovators not just from Karnataka, but from across India and the world,” Manjula said.
“Chennai has a strong and vibrant technology and innovation community, and our interaction today was an opportunity to deepen this connection and explore new avenues for collaboration,” she added.
The discussions covered participation opportunities at BTS 2026 for technology companies, start-ups, investors, researchers and innovators, as well as potential collaboration between the two states’ technology ecosystems.
BTS 2026 is scheduled to bring together participants across areas including artificial intelligence, deep technology, electronics and semiconductors, biotechnology, fintech, health technology and space-tech. The summit is expected to feature more than 1,800 exhibitors, 25,000 delegates, 1,000 start-ups and 60,000 business visitors from more than 75 countries and 30 states and Union Territories.
The Chennai outreach is part of Karnataka’s engagement with technology and innovation communities outside the state ahead of the summit.
