CtrlS Datacenters has signed a letter of intent with the Bihar government to invest Rs 10,000 crore in a proposed 150 MW hyperscale AI factory in Bodh Gaya. The announcement coincided with the inauguration of the company’s Rs 400 crore data centre in Patna.

Located in Patliputra Industrial Area, the Patna facility currently has an IT load capacity of 12 MW, with scope for expansion based on demand. The company said the data centre would serve enterprises, government institutions, hyperscalers and technology businesses in Bihar and eastern India.

Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters, said the investments would support the development of digital infrastructure in the state and create employment opportunities.

“We are committed to strengthening Bihar’s digital infrastructure and building a robust IT ecosystem through our future-ready datacenters, designed to serve the evolving needs of hyperscalers, enterprises, and startups,” Pinnapureddy said.

He also credited the Bihar government’s policy environment and incentives for supporting the company’s investment in the state.

The proposed Bodh Gaya project would add to CtrlS’s planned expansion in India. The company also intends to establish more than 20 edge data centres across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities over the coming years, as demand grows for localised computing capacity and low-latency digital services.

CtrlS, which began operations in 2007, said it operates 19 data centres across nine markets in India and plans to build more than 4.4 GW of data centre capacity by 2030.

The company has not specified a timeline for completing the proposed 150 MW facility in Bodh Gaya.
