K7 Group splits into consumer and enterprise cybersecurity businesses

0 2

K7 Group has restructured its operations into two separate businesses, with K7 Computing focusing on consumer and small office/home office (SOHO) customers and K7 CyberSecurity serving enterprise customers. As part of the restructuring, Ashok Harris has joined K7 CyberSecurity as Co-founder and CEO.

The Chennai-based cybersecurity company announced the changes on October 28, 2026. Harris will lead K7 CyberSecurity’s overall strategy, product direction, enterprise positioning and expansion in India and international markets.

Kesavardhanan Jayaraman, founder of K7 Group, will take on the role of founder and chief technology officer at K7 CyberSecurity, overseeing core technology, research and engineering. He will continue as founder and CEO of K7 Computing.

Separate focus for enterprise and consumer markets

The restructuring is intended to align the group’s leadership, investment and product development with the needs of two distinct customer segments.

K7 said enterprises increasingly require integrated security across endpoints, networks, identities, cloud environments and critical applications. The company also cited the growing complexity of cybersecurity as businesses adopt artificial intelligence, which can enable attackers to develop and deploy more sophisticated threats.

The press release cited a global cybersecurity market projection of US$302 billion in 2026 from Grand View Research. It also referred to IBM’s Data Breach Report 2026, which recorded an average global breach cost of US$4.99 million and a 56% year-on-year increase in AI-driven attacks.

Under the new structure, K7 CyberSecurity will focus on enterprise requirements, while K7 Computing will continue to serve consumers and SOHO customers.

Jayaraman said enterprise security requires prevention alongside visibility, detection and response. He added that operating separate businesses would allow the group to align leadership, investment and innovation with the requirements of each market.

He said Harris brings more than 30 years of experience in building and scaling businesses globally. According to Jayaraman, this experience will help K7 CyberSecurity develop its enterprise strategy and translate customer requirements into product direction, drawing on the group’s research and engineering capabilities.

Harris to lead enterprise strategy and expansion

Harris has held senior leadership positions at Hexaware Technologies and Mahindra Satyam, where he worked in global business leadership and led strategic sales, business transformation and international growth. He founded Mindquest Consulting in 2009.

In his new role, Harris will oversee K7 CyberSecurity’s product direction and commercial strategy, with a focus on enterprise customers and international expansion.

Harris said the growing use of AI is changing the cybersecurity requirements of businesses. While attackers can use AI to develop threats at greater speed and scale, enterprises adopting the technology also face risks involving data, identities, access and autonomous systems.

He said businesses need security capabilities that connect prevention, detection, investigation and response, supported by intelligent automation and human expertise. Disconnected security products and isolated alerts, he added, are insufficient to address these requirements.

Harris also said the restructuring reflects the company’s focus on making enterprise cybersecurity more customer-centric. The stated aim is to combine K7’s proprietary technology with simpler security operations, responsive service and a stronger understanding of customer needs.

Four priorities for K7 CyberSecurity

Under Harris, K7 CyberSecurity will focus on four strategic priorities: strengthening its enterprise market positioning through customer-centricity, developing products to address emerging threats including AI-enabled attacks, simplifying security operations through more integrated capabilities, and accelerating growth through channel and strategic partnerships.

The company plans to expand its ecosystem of distributors, system integrators, managed service providers and managed security service providers. The expansion is intended to deepen customer relationships and extend its market reach.

K7 CyberSecurity’s strategy will be guided by three principles: comprehensive protection, customer-centricity and simplicity.

The restructuring brings together Jayaraman’s responsibility for technology, research and engineering with Harris’s focus on enterprise strategy, product direction and commercial execution. K7 Computing will continue to operate as the group’s consumer and SOHO-focused business, while K7 CyberSecurity concentrates on enterprise cybersecurity.
