5 AR And VR Indian Startups That Are Upping The Game

In India, there are many small and medium scale companies that have been competing among themselves to be the frontrunner in the AR/VR space. Let’s have a look at some of them:

  • Rizort

Based out of Bengaluru, Rizort allows users to consume VR panoramic content that is created by creators all across the globe. Its art studio helps one easily create 360 VR videos, with narratives and other add ons. This startup looks forward to revolutionise the way people travel and explore different places.

Funding Received: USD 3 Mn in the initial round

Investors: Blume Ventures and Dream Incubator

  • SmartVizX

A startup that is aiming to revolutionise the perspective of small and medium businesses in India, SmartvizX is quite famous for its architectural design and construction. Their specialty is their Oculus Rift VR headsets and other applications, through which one can realise that these materials that haven’t been created physically.

Funding: USD 2 Mn in the initial rounds

  • Scapic

Scapic is one of the most interesting startups in the AR/VR space. It specialises in creating platforms where one can create AR and VR experiences, without having any technical knowledge. 

This allows a user to login to their portal, and choose between existing templates, in order to  create a VR experience that suits their needs. Also, Scapic allows the user to share their created content across multiple channels seamlessly.

Investors: Speciale Invest, Axilor Ventures, Kris Gopalakrishnan and 1 Other Investors

  • Kalpnik

One of the new entrants to the AR and VR space in India, Kalpnik aims to create virtual reality experiences, in order to explore remote and far off locations. One of the main features is VRDevotee, that streams immersive AR and VR experiences for religious events.

Funding: USD 526K

Investors: Pil Italica Lifestyle, Venture Catalysts, CoEvolve Estates and 4 Others

  • SP Robotic Works

Based out of Chennai, SP Robotic Works offers a different product when it comes to AR and VR. It procures and supplies DIY kits through which one can learn various skills in the fields of robotics, AR and VR. 

They have electronic blocks kit, ranger kit, coding kit, and others as their key offerings.
