STMicroelectronics has announced the appointment of Anand Kumar as the new Managing Director for India, succeeding Vivek Sharma, who superannuated after a distinguished 34-year career.

Kumar brings extensive experience in leadership, innovation and product development. He has led major business transformations within the technology sector, in his 26 years with the company. STMicroelectronics welcomed him, stating that his role reflects their intent to advance their goals and strengthen their market position.

Based at the Greater Noida headquarters, Anand Kumar will oversee the company’s India operations. His role includes driving growth strategy and spearheading innovation initiatives that align with both local and global objectives.. Meanwhile, Vivek Sharma’s retirement marks the end of an era for STMicroelectronics India. Over his 34-year tenure, he made significant contributions to the company’s growth and success in the semiconductor industry. This leadership change aligns with broader trends in the semiconductor sector. Anand Kumar is recognized for leading large-scale business transformations and holds over 20 patents in semiconductor IP design. His technical background includes a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi.
