Zendesk has appointed Bikram Mazumdar as vice president for Asia as the company looks to accelerate its growth and strengthen go-to-market execution across key markets, including India, Southeast Asia, North Asia, and Korea.

Based in Singapore, Mazumdar will lead regional strategy and expansion efforts, reporting to Mitch Young, senior vice president, APAC. His appointment comes at a time when enterprises across Asia Pacific are rapidly scaling AI adoption, particularly in customer and employee experience platforms.

Mazumdar brings extensive experience across enterprise technology, with prior leadership roles at Yellow.ai, Sprinklr, Oracle, and IBM. His background spans customer experience (CX), employee experience (EX), and AI-led platforms, with a track record of building high-growth businesses across APAC and EMEA.

The appointment reflects Zendesk’s focus on a region that is both diverse and rapidly evolving, with rising expectations around digital service delivery. According to the company’s CX Trends research, 77% of APAC consumers report higher service expectations than a year ago, while 75% expect more personalised experiences powered by AI. At the same time, 96% of consumers want greater transparency in how AI is used—highlighting the need for trust alongside automation.

Zendesk is positioning itself to support this shift by helping organisations transition from fragmented service models to AI-powered, integrated customer engagement systems that combine automation with human insight.

Mazumdar noted that the company is entering a pivotal phase where AI is delivering tangible business value, enabling more intelligent, responsive, and empathetic service interactions. His focus will be on deepening partnerships, scaling enterprise adoption, and supporting customers in advancing their digital transformation journeys.

With this leadership move, Zendesk is reinforcing its commitment to Asia as a core growth engine, where demand for AI-driven service platforms is being shaped by both rising consumer expectations and enterprise productivity needs.
